Welcome to Run On!

Liberty was the "Star Runner" in her training group one Sunday. My name is Liberty Tribe, and I’m a Runner!

Born in St. Petersburg, Florida but a native of Mesquite, Texas, Liberty is a bundle of inspiration to anyone who meets her. She began running cross country in middle school which carried over to high school and college.

Now 32 Liberty’s love of running is even stronger and says, “That itch to getting to that runner’s high is very addictive. I love just getting out and running as a way to just clear my head and focus on me.”

An inspiration to all those around her, Liberty tore her ACL back in March doing Tae Kwon Do. She is in physical therapy now but has not had surgery and yes continues to run, averaging 23 miles per week with a goal of 25.

“Right now I am training for the DRC Half in November followed by the White Rock Half in December. Ultimately I want to run the full White Rock Marathon in 2009”, added Liberty.

Liberty has been running with Run On! for two years and has been a coach and a mentor for running 101 and distance classes. She finds her happy pace to be between 11:30 and 12:00 minute miles. A great friend to Run On! Liberty feels she owes a lot back to the store and the people for keeping her inspired.

“If you want to lose weight then start running. It is what I tell everyone. And running with a group is a great way to stay motivated. The people that surround you make those early morning wake up calls worth it”, commented Liberty about Run On!’s classes. So far Liberty has lost 60 pounds since last October and has 40 more to go.

Liberty’s inspiration goes well beyond Run On! Here is an unsolicited email we got about her from a member at a local health club that we found amusing:

To Whom It May Concern:

I was trying to find an e-mail address for Rebecca and Bob Wallace or even someone named Jennifer that I hear so many wonderful things about. I keep hearing all about Run On as if you all are a part of some cult.  I hope you can please pass on this information. I was only able to find the addresses from your website.

First let me say that you have a Superstar working for you. Her name is Liberty Tribe. What a name. She has motivated our group here at our health clube and almost talked us into joining a class at Run On. By the way I love your store. Keep selling the plus sizes.

This lady never stops. Nothing is getting in her way. We all wanted to see how long Liberty could run along side our trainer who thinks running is not as important as lifting weights or running on a treadmill.

She did it. I could not believe that our trainer had to stop and walk while Liberty just kept on going as if she was focused and could go on for miles. I think  Liberty ran 12.5 miles and the trainer finished at 8. We got tired of watching them beat themselves on the treadmill and went to workout and came back to see Liberty still at it and our trainer gasping for air about to pass out on the floor.

I joined the health club due to my weight issues and have never been so motivated by one person. She is very encouraging. I think our trainer will be joining your classes soon since that was the deal to challenge Liberty in the first place. If the trainer lost - he would have to join Run On running classes and if Liberty lost she would have to sign up for personal sessions at the clube. I think he thought he could beat her since she had a knee injury. So she did you proud. I will be joining the " Turkey" class soon.

Just thought you might want to know how bright your star shines at our club!

Take care,
Christina

Liberty, thanks for all that you do for us! Run On!
