Welcome to Run On!

Training & Classes

Trained by Run On!
I thought the program exceeded my expectations. I liked the fact that you had planned runs during the week with coaches in attendance. Past programs have not done that. I liked the personal attention that I received from the coaches and the different pace groups.

Former Marathon/Half Class Members Say . . .

"You asked about our motivation...  My long term motivation is to live a healthy lifestyle, but my immediate motivation hit me the end of last year when I had my 39th birthday and was the heaviest I've ever been in my life.  I decided right then that I was going to be thin when I turn 40.  Knowing that running is a great way to take off those pounds, I signed up with Run On for the spring half-marathon class, then 301 in the summer, and now am in the White Rock/late marathon class.  So far 22 pounds off and expecting many more gone by the time I turn 40 on Christmas Day! "

"I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude for the spring training program you have put together.  I have found the program incredibly challenging, but I am really starting to see the rewards.  This weekend, I ran the Cowtown Half Marathon.  I had set a goal of running the event at an 8:04 pace, as the McMillan running calculator indicated this was the equivalent pace needed for a 3:45:00 marathon.  I will admit that I was incredibly nervous about maintaining this pace given that I normally train with the 9:30 pace group.  I had also been warned about the hills, and the added cold weather and wind made this incredibly difficult.  Even so, I set a PR at 1:42:48--a pace of 7:51!  I really surprised myself, as I still had enough strength to sprint to the finish line without really tiring myself out."

"I wanted to say thanks for everything!!   You did a great job of preparing us mentally and physically for our marathon.   The training more than met my expectations!  I know I would never have been able to complete a marathon without all of the knowledge and support provided by you and the rest of the coaches.  I really do believe in what Run On is doing.  The whole group concept is such a positive experience and having a coach with you on the long run is essential.  I actually consider myself a runner now and know I will continue to run.  Not just for fitness, but because of something bigger inside of me that has developed through running in a group with great support from great coaches!  Running/training has helped me learn a lot about myself and I saw that in others in our group as well.  You guys really do more than you know and I really appreciate all that you and the others have done.  I look forward to the upcoming Sunday runs :)"
KR

"With the well planned long runs and good communication, as well as coaches available during the week, you definitely exceeded my expectations.  I also liked the additional programs. The training plan and having people expect me to be there on Sun!  Having water/PowerAde available all along the way every time was very helpful. The people!   The Run On! Coaches are great, and lots of fun.  Until the longest runs, completing the required training was never difficult. (Unless I had been out late the night before!)"
SS

"The program exceeded my expectations.   My expectations were based on my experiences with the …… program.  As we discussed, that program lacks much in the way of personal attention.  Your program really focuses on keeping the groups together and that fact makes the long runs much more enjoyable.  . This is a very important aspect of marathon training that I did not experience with …...  In addition, I feel that the speed work on the track at SMU cannot be forgotten.  It is probably this aspect of the program that benefited me the most and permitted me to improve my running efficiency/decrease my minutes per mile."
KV

"The program was great, exceeded my expectations. My whole group loved our coach and the personal encouragement she gave. I would recommend it to a friend, certainly. Not much of an evaluation, I just don't have many changes to suggest. Thanks for everything."
AM

"The support and encouragement from all of the coaches and the other runners within the training program.  The feeling one receives from having so many people take their time to help and encourage others to achieve their goals, is unbelievable.  The constant contact and information the coaches and other individuals share with one another, encouraged me to keep running even after my injuries and my goals were changed................ Above all else, the relationships that I have formed with other runners and the staff at Run On!  Nothing is better than to be associated with others that have the passion for fitness/running."
SH

"I have a difficult time doing long runs solo, unless it's a beautiful day and there are scads of people out at the lake. It was wonderful hooking up with you guys, making some friends, and working towards a goal together. I liked the fact that no matter how crummy the weather was, you were still there to run! Can't exactly say that "I" was there... but I knew "you" were there for me. And what I REALLY liked about our group (the slow group) was that we hung together. There were times in the last program that I ran in (not RunOn) that I was out there totally by myself and my group coach had gone home before some of us had returned to the start point."
NH

"I like Thursday classes very much and your long runs are planned very well. I enjoyed this time following the schedule.  Without the great coaches it would be impossible for me. Rebecca and Erika were outstanding!!!!!"
FW

"I just wanted to send you all a quick note of thanks for a job well done.....Thank you all for making the Road Trip Training experience a success!  I don't think there is one single person who trained with all of you, who didn't walk away feeling that they had accomplished their goal.....And without you, they wouldn't have succeeded......"
SH

"The program exceeded my expectations. I did not know how I could run a Half-Marathon and in Austin the run felt terrific! The program worked because Millie and Erica ran with us during the week and then on the Sunday runs. Being able to do it with them (two times beside Sunday) was excellent."
JB

"A big thanks to Will - our fearless leader who helped all of us reach our goals. You motivated us each and every week and helped each of us be the best runner we could be. As George said, your wisdom will be with us every step of every future run. THANK YOU!I enjoyed running with ALL of you these past few months!! Thanks for the stories, the jokes, and the great conversation that kept me going on all our group runs. Without all of you, I would have "fizzled" out! THANKYOU!"
AD

"The program worked great for me primarily because of the approach to the goal races and the specific weekly training schedules.  Running with others helped, but I only ran with the group on the Sunday runs.  I tried doing my own schedules in the summer prior to joining RunOn, and it wasn't working too well."
