training.gif (5718 bytes) "I always loved running...it was something you could do by yourself, and under your own power. You could go in any direction, fast or slow as you wanted, fighting the wind if you felt like it, seeking out new sights just on the strength of your feet and the courage of your lungs."

Marathon Memories
Top 10 Reasons to Do Chicago and Love It
by Fawz

1. The other 30,000 plus nuts you'll be running with.

2. The million plus spectators yelling your name because you put it on your shirt in big black bold letters.

3. The first bridge you go under(before mile 1) and hear everyone yelling.

4. Getting to the half way mark and feeling like you just started (because you're so well-trained!)

5. The weather! Anything beats the Dallas heat. If you can run through our summers I'm thinking you can run through anything.

6. Going over the Chicago River and checking out all the cool architecture.

7. Chinatown and all its festivities.

8. Running down Michigan Avenue the last 2 miles realizing you're in one of the coolest cities in the world.

9. Running UP the bridge at Roosevelt asking yourself which cruel person would make you run uphill in the last .2 miles, then to turn the corner and see the balloons at the finish line.

10. Chicago style stuffed pizza and beer after the race.
